Hi i have made an livecd for slackware to try on xbox,Where can i up load any one got space as Ed at xbox-linux project said he might put it on sourceforg xbox site if its ok.But that i need ftp space so he can get it.Thanks if any one got space leave me message here i will make iso smaller if problem about 200mb to 280 ok.
This cd can be just coppied to e and f hd on xbox then can run from there and can be also installed native on hda2 freespace on xbox aswell,This is slightly different then other linux on xbox as this cd uses ovlfs with fatx and modules Modules meaning you can make say you want xfce4 as desktop make modules of xfce4 stick it on cd or hd in modules dir and you have a new desktop. no need install again,you can have upto 128 modules could be anything
frevoo,wine,firefox bitchx even kde if you chop it up in smaller modules..MY main aim
was to keep it small and fast as livecd so i do not have to effect hd on xbox. you will be
surprised as to how fast it runs as cd as long you dont put to many large modules so keep it small for livecd but you can make it as big as you want when you want to install on hd. as the /tmpfs runs in ram and xbox only has 64 .but i think people who have 128 ram should b able to run kde and gnome fast.Kde still runs i have tested with 64 megs but slow because of memory could be fixted later if possible but you can still install it native.This cd will also boot on pc so you can still test on pc with old hard drive then if you like and works well put it on xbox hd.I am a novice at this but with theese scripts i mean any one with time and effort can not only make slackware with
these livescripts but any other linux distro which can be installed on hd with changing
the scripts slightly and some files in rc.d dir etc it depends just what linux your bulding for and where the startup files are .So you see at last any one willing to learn and test
can build our own custom linux how we like it which is differen educatinol and fun.I mean before i came across these scripts i did not even know what remount,rw was well i did but i think i understan it better now .I orignally started doing iso for old computers
with very little ram as we sent lots old computers to poor countries .so i thought i will
try see if it works on xbox as livecd as xbox only have small memory 64 so that how i started,plus its great learning all the new filing system for example  you will be using
ovlsf squashfs unionfs  with fatx  i think some of these combination are first for linux on xbox except gentoo i think uses squashfs now.we use ovlfs and unionfs because we are building livecd aswell.
Ok thanks for now i hope you try and help and improve it if you like or run it as is  it works but need testing by others .AS i only have standard xbox hd  and ram i would like
to know if some one with 128 ram  to see if kde and gnome run fast on livecd with extra ram ok.I let you know when some let me upload it and when it goes to xbox-linux
project site you can then all try.

Hello.  I've got a host that can send down as much as you can take and I have 120GB/month transfer.  I could set you up an FTP account if you would like to upload the image sometime.  I'd definately like to be a tester also.

and offer me some space to upload my iso.I have been all over the net posting leaving mesages in three weeks not one person took intrest and offring me  space to upload.So
as i nearly gave up and killed the idea.But luckly in the last few days  the nice chap at
Xfedora and Ed who is in charge off xbox-linux offered to put it up with other linuxes .but i had to have ftp space.So the other day i rembered xbox-scene.com i
use to post messages here before and people were kind and helpfull.I havent been here for a long time now i think nearly a year or so as i even forgot my passward here.
Anyway i thought i will post here and see any one can help,Guess what a nice kind

Ok mate chadkeck thanks again great i think you can send me private email through this forum clicking on bollywood i think  not sure if not post again here ok,I am just writing some docs for project as you call it,with my bad english and speeling included just hatched up quick simple logo as is called "SXB" its just a simple logo black and white  with in the middle a large X with small S on the left of it,on the right side of it B,any way lets try this  you will se what i mean     S

got the idea  large  X in the middle s and b be closer together  so it spells SXB from sideways and for top down for slackware xbox  you see it soon and first any way,Any way if people like project i bet they will have some nice looking logos,but at least this one be first not the last.Its funny really Slackware was one of the first linux on xbox a year and a half ago it was called sthxbox  but i think wonder what happend to that ,i think i am right it was given up or somethig,if you search on net you might find some reference to that .Any way its 2 IN THE MORNING HERE IN UK.I will be up till 4 trying to finish doc and to see all the scripts doc etc are included on cd.You see i stay up so late
as i used to work nights, and ask any one working night shift once you get use to this its hard to go bet early as i get tired during day and full awake at night.You see i have had to give up work to look after my other half recently who became disabled so i had lot off spare time on my hand ,mabe thats why i started to do this project to kill time.As
when i was working nights i only used computer  and come on line one or two times a month but now every day.
Ok mate you seem to be very keen to help me with this project and i think you will do well .may be we will need one or 2 person to be in charge for help and questions,even

Thanks daveh another great name Thanks for your interest and not Trusting me,
if you read my my ealier notes you will realise that i had to ask some people whoes
 logos and original script i used to port this for their permission and i have to send
them email and had to wait for reply as not everyone replies fast you know,Plus i had
write a doc which i have never done before i had to make sure i did not leave some
softaware on cd for example i had to take out vmware. and other software out.Plus
i was thinking of people who have 128 ram with large hd and people have standard
xbox.You see as it can be used as livecd so you dont want it too big for people running
it as livecd and you dont want too small for people who have extra ram and hd.So
you see i try to get the balance right.I could have just uploaded as is 3 weeks back
if i had ftp space. then may be some people whould have complained later i have use their logo etc.so i am glad now i have permission now ok.I even thought off you
as a matter a fact i think you asked me about scripts,But if you look on my messages
on this i have answered this question for you.That is why i have included all the orignal
scripts etc so you can get them your selves and newer versions.
So all this took time all i have to do now is finish up my doc as i am very slow at this
you can guess by my spelling.and then include it in iso with my simple logo so in 1
hour or so i am finished and then i will upload when i get details of ftp from chadkeck
