Ack! I Broke It (ssh Tunneling)
« on: October 04, 2004, 06:11:00 AM »

CODE
xbox:~# kde2 &
[1] 864
xbox:~# xsetroot:  unable to open display ''
ksplash: cannot connect to X server
Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set.
ksmserver: cannot connect to X server
connect() failed: : No such file or directory

its 5:30am, im going to bed. i can only pray that it will sort it self out. of course being a windows guy who is new to linux, i tried rebooting (that will fix ANYTHING in windows) and killed my great uptime, and that didnt help.

Any ideas?

*edit* while i was posting this i was mucking with it, and got this error :

QUOTE
X-Win32 version 6.0 patch level 2
X11 forwarding refused

so that gives me an idea of where to start looking.

*edit number 2*

So i obviously lied about the sleep thing, and after further prodding, i found this:

Edit number 3.

I fixed that, it had nothing to do with anything AFAIK.
