« on: July 30, 2004, 08:53:00 PM »

I burned the stardust iso, and started the install.

everything was going good, i choose the f install.

i selected i have a flashable chip (xenium)

but i selected 256 k for the bank.

anyways,

i went through all the steps and then it says it has to copy files, it make take a while, and the progress bar is not very acurate... ok....

i switched the video mode on my tv, while waiting, then i flicked back but the screen is blank. mu led is flashing, cycling through red green orange....

should i stop it, its been about a half hour doing this copy thing

I started again, now I am reading what it is saying... cannot create rootfs...

skipping rootfs...

does this mean it can't access the f partition ? I guess i will try with e, but i don't have much free space, i dont meet the requirements... i'll see what i can do.

I'm using executor 2 bios, tried cromwell too.

ok so I moved my udata and tdata folders from my e drive to f to free up space.

i run the installer from cromwell, but it always freezes on loading stardust.

so i'm running it from unleashed with executer 2.

i am installing it to the e: partition, not f now.

i don;t get the rootfs cannot be created, it was being extracted ! it was like 11%. so i went to surf the web, and now the screen is blank. led is still cycling though red green orange....

i'm going to re-boot and try cromwell again i guess before bed.

QUOTE (bcforn64 @ Jul 31 2004, 06:31 PM)

Geez, it's most likely the screen saver, press a button on the directional pad.

I tried pressing buttons and it does nothing, I believe that I pressed on the d-pad but i'm not %100 sure.

I did not read anything about a screen-saver during the installation process.

I've tired unpacking the files and ftp'ing them over to my Xbox, I'm going to try again when I get home.

I will post on the gentoox site anyways.

thanks,
