Is there a tool in Linux that flashes? Does it still launch from evolution x?

Reason I ask is it comes preloaded on the dreamX bravo...  A friend of mine wants it for its chip, over the other dreamX's....

Stills table but twice the cache speed...

Now anyways... Is there a tool to flash with that installed? Would it be launched from the evolutionX dash or would it be just always be there?

IS there a simple way to just use ftp to get it with my xbox's software, and bios?

If someone can get the basic Idea of the simple question I'm asking from many angles to clarify it, a million freakin thanks to you! : )
