to install software type emerge softwarename
you can do emerge -s name to search for software which contains this name but a internet connection is required for this. you can move files around or delete them on a fatx partition. search google and find out how to use the mount command

If you are not going to use your xbox for like a day and you want to update all of the software already installed you can type "emerge --update --upgradeonly world", when it asks you if you want to emerge sync type yes (emerge sync only needs to be done like once every couple weeks or so).  Warning this may take many hours!  You can also use shallaxs Gentoox specific updates simply by typing magic and answering a few questions.  You can use the filemanager in kde or xfce and browse to /mnt/fatx/c or /mnt/fatx/e and mess with the files on your hardrive, you can also go to /mnt/fatx/f but you may have some problems with the f: partition.

oh, I forgot, flash player.  Thats a little more complicated process, you can download macromedia flash player for linux from there website and it will have a readme file for how to install it, but it is much more complicated, I don't think emerge will install flash player for you, I think it will tell you there are no ebuilds(automated scripts for installing stuff in gentoo) for it.

Oh yeah, to shutdown gentoox in kde, click on the "lil star iconbox" and go to system and there should be an icon for reboot and one for shut down.  You can corrupt you filesystem by just hitting the power button and not shutting down properly.

Cool, I wasn't sure if you had to do all the make, make install crap or run an .sh or something.  When I went to install it a while ago I probably just tried a couple of different names for the package and gave up instead of doing emerge -s.
