Use Modchip To Work Unmatched Hd And Mobo

I have a LTOPX modchip can i install this on my unmodded xbox and use it to pair the xbox motherboard and hard drive then take it out after?

Will the xbox still work?

My goal here is to take an unmatched motherboard and xbox hard drive and use them without a modchip or softmod.

yes you can install a modchip, lock the replacement hd to the xbox mobo and then remove the modchip after you are sure the xbox boots properly using the retail bios only. as long the the hd has all of the proper dashboard files and is not currently locked to a different mobo, this will work for you.

so after i should take off all of my files for when the xbox had a modchip and just have a normal MS hard drive with just the regular files from when it was purchased?
