Smartxx explained that in the past already. The other smartxx chips have this feature too afaik.
It's a feature that makes your chip fully invisible when your modchip is disabled. Most other chips are theoretically visible even when disabled.
MS could add a check for this via Xbox LIVE but afaik they never did this so far.

2 minor things- It doesn't install itself(YET) and It doesn't allow backups on live. laugh.gif  laugh.gif  jester.gif  tongue.gif

yeah, produce a "live compatible" chip and you will see me buy one...

until then, its just another chip for a dying console as the 360 is getting most of the attention now...

Ha, First off live is gay.  If you want a chip to play on live then you are either not playing fair, playing with mods, or not bright enough to play on other free options for free.  Live is over hyped, and IMO pretty damn weak.

Now I will say with the 360 they have made some live improvements to offer more than before, but for an Xbox 1 user paying for live is rediculous.

Also if you think the Xbox is a dying console you are in the wrong forum.  Dreamcast is still getting dev'd for, how many years ago was that labeled "dying console?"

If by dying you mean no more commercial games, then good, in the past year I can honestly say that 5-10 commercial games on the xbox where worth purchasing.  While on the other hand, Home brew games kick ass, they are free, some times very original, and the game play kicks some serious ass.

As for features of the chip I am interested in

* Ships with IR Transmitter: YES
* High Power Infrared Remote Output: YES
* IR MOD Ready: YES

Can someone explain what this means I have no clue.
* RGB Ambient Light (3x Independent PWM´s): YES
* External Parallel RGB (3x Independent PWM´s): YES

this is basically like the RGB LED on the xenium ice (look at the lower right corner of the chip you will se the RGB LED) 3x independant pwms means that each individual color in the LED is controllable by independant Pulse Width Modulation

the external parallel RGB is the exact same thing as the xenium here too (that silly little board with an rgb led on it, that can be daisy-chained)

its nice to see that the "new" features on this chip is support for a Xenium style RGB LED and a solderless plug for a X3 LCD..........get some original functionality why don't ya!

Why not use other Teams products? They are all good quality so why make a new one that does the same thing?
Just my thoughts.

would be good to see the X3CP running of a SmartXX V3.

to use backups on live someone would have to figure out the code to sign a hacked bios to make it appear genuine.  It has nothing to do with burned games, live detects unsigned bios.

Regarding RGB LED on smartXX V3, there is a big differnece between the solution on smartxx and that on on Xenium. On Xenium it's only possible to switch on and off the 3 different colors (red, blue and green) where on SmartXX you can set a brightness value between 0 and 127 for each different color giving a overall color range of over 2 million colors (all controlled in hardware thats the main thing)

About the X3 display connector, its correct, that it can directly used to connect a X3 display, but even that one is enhanced as a poti is no more required to set the contrast of the display instead this is done in hardware and can be set be a own register in the smartxx (0 to 127).

Best regards
