Preferred Download Source: Sourceforge.net

Download Method: IE standard (click link -> Save)
Extractor used: WinXP integrted
[OR WINRAR 3.0 which works FOR ME]

File Sizes after extracting (in KB):
geentooxx.xbe -----1,293
initrd.gz-----------------259
linuxboot.cfg---------------1
README v2.txt-----------10
rootfs-------------3,072,000
[VERIFY the size of your uncompressed file !]
swap----------------262,114
wmlinuz------------------914

Install Method: Ftp all above files to "/e/" on my xbox (NO SUB-DIRECTORY)

[and I confirm]
Every-thing worked fine for me. [... for me too, Thanx Coolgeek]

So I tried winzip/win98 & file-roller/linux before and it did'nt work. Then I used winrar3.0/win2K and 0 CRC error on rootf file ! And rootfs is now corresponding to the size in doc (see above) !!!
Then FTP (flashfxp) to my box (see above)... The rootfs file transfer was ca.10min long...

And now, i'm trying the stuff inside the OS... 'cause no more KERNEL PANIC !!!

WOOHOO!

Thanks for that last reply Kanaberra! Got the install running now.

The problem was that rootfs file. I was using winRAR 3.11 which died when rootfs reached 2GB, but I tried winRAR 3.20, and it worked great. (in windows explorer it showed up as size 0, but my ftp client knew better, so all is well. :)

happy hacking
