Counter-strike Server Ne One?
« on: July 16, 2003, 05:00:00 AM »

If its doable through Gentoox, then im willing. Or which Linux would it require? Or is it just any with network support. I got 3 PCs and an Xbox on my LAN, so the xbox as a server would be pretty cool. biggrin.gif

Ok, if you guys want it Ill write it!  I am doing it through Gentoox, by the way I have it running right now!!  I believe that it should run on any distro because I didn't use any emerge commands, just basic linux like tar and mv and such, So if you would want me to write a tut just tell me.  If you want me to include Adminmod and Statsme support, jsut hit it!!  Thanks.

Sweeet... another POINTLESS use for the xbox.  Why the hell would you run performance-critical apps, especially an app designed for HUGE amounts of memory, such as HLDS  unsure.gif

The Xbox has 64 megs of ram.... low resolution (compared to a pc).... Web browsing, email, CS servers? <sigh>  blink.gif

I hope someday the "Let's see how much ridiculous crap i can get to run on my xbox" craze dies down... USE YOUR PC   beerchug.gif

Oh, and don't forget to buy a game or two  biggrin.gif

I got a Cs server running like a half year ago... I was using debian did just install hlds like on a usual pc with linux...

The thing is that the server will lag much because of the ram. U could have a greate server if u got 128mb in your box. (I have no idée if u can boot linux with 128mb  wink.gif )

If u need help install hlds just goggle: hlds linux port howto or somethign like that

Wow... easily offended.

Kollision: No you didn't offend anyone.  I was out of line...

Lightfast: There's still no point... if you ran it on your PC, you could support 32.  And someone always has to introduce the name calling.
