My xbox boots to ms dash when I have my smartxx v2 attached to the pinheader. When I solder the smartxx to the D0 the xbox frags. can anyone help with this?

Are you sure you are soldering it to the right D0 hole? Try the underside of the motherboard if all else fails.

check the lpc points i had this problem when i installed my firlst smartxx v2 and it was a connection to the lpc

any other ideas im sure my adapter is connected securly and properly. im getting angry ive had it apart before and put it together with no problems.

1 thing would pluggin the chip in to only one side of the pinheader fry the chip is there anyway to check if its fried.

it only frag when i connect the D0

Ok, I resolderd the d0 to the bottom of the board and resoldered all lpc points. the smartxx still doesnt, boot what should I do now?

then you have to redo the lpc again. thats the problem. the d0 has nothing to do with anything other than makeing the xbox boot the lpc instead of the tsop. pin 2 is connected, and if the chip lights up, then 9 is good as well. its one of the lad points that is off.

This hasnt been said but Can you put a different chip on the pinhead and use the same d0 Wire? Because i've done a few installs where the SmartXX was Faulty. Try it. Like i mean dont take my advice wrong and not check your LPC points, Check them and redo if necessary. But dont rule out the possibility of it being a bad chip.
