laugh.gif 286 kicked ass

Wolf 3d was tight as hell, but my mom never liked the fact of killing dogs, lol.  As soon as i finished that game i was hooked on 1st person, and i started playing other's like Blake Stone and another called catacomb 3d (I think it was called that.... huh.gif )  But I think i liked the sierra adventure games best....and the text-based adventure games were sweet too.  D.Nukem 1 was awesome, but i could never get the second one to run right....it think it was a bad copy, especially with all crap i did to the computer just to see if it would work

Now it's time for me to salvage at my parents house for this legendary machine....and get that game to run beerchug.gif

LOL yeah.
Those where back in the days, when i would play games through. Now a games story, doesnt have the same effect on me. I loved those DN and Wolf3d games. These days, im into games like CS, GTA3/Vice, where i dont have to do story based stuff, but can when its boring. MY god, looking at games like Vice CIty, and then back at how limiting htey where back then..... i really see how far we have come.

Just thought of another few games too LOL. Hugo 1/2/3, and Leisure suit larry, those sorta games ruled aswell, although i cant stand games like that nowadays, other than them..... these 10yr old games dont have standards to exceed, but when a new game comes out in that perspective, i have an instant dislike for it..... jester.gif My standards are so much higher now, looking forward to HL2 for the next few years of gaming... love.gif

Why pick one over the other because you "think it is easier". Easy is not always better!

I never said Windows is better. I said it is easier to learn.

If everything can be done so easily with a GUI...why is it that I keep seeing people in tutorials saying do this and that in the command prompt? And yes I have used Linux before.

What is with everyone saying that everything is "command prompt" driven? Sure, there is a powerful shell behind the OS, unlike Windows, but you can still do just about everything through the GUI... (Including all administrative functions).

Maybe you can do everything with the GUI, but you'd probably have to set it up to do so with command prompt first  laugh.gif

Good lord... just let people use what they wish.

If they feel windows is "better" for reasons X, Y, and Z, fine.
If they feel Linux is "better" for reasons A, B, and C, fine.

("better" is a wildcard... easier/more powerful/etc/who cares)

Stop trying to make people feel dumb because they prefer apples to oranges.  Seems like this argument REALLY stands the test of time -- but never goes anywhere.
