Have you ever actually TRIED Lindows? Been using Linux for about 6 years now, and of course windows ....  Lindows, nice idea, very poorly implimented. You have to PAY to get any decent apps. rpm is non-existent, libraries are all over the place or also non-existent. It bear no resemblence to either linux or windows.

also doesn't lindows just use WINE to emulate windows, at least that is how i understood it.

Yeah, they're just using WINE. They even contribute source code changes to the WINE CVS tree.
So, you got two choices with Windows emulation/virtualization: WINE, or Plex86. I'd say Bochs, but it moves REAL SLOW compared to Plex86. Wine needs to be executed for each individual binary, while Plex86 will make a virtual machine within Linux so you can install anything you want on it.
