The xbox-linux project would probably not be happening if the processor was not x86.

so i guess by your rationale, both the dreamcast and ps2 are x86's.  this thread is stupid; why'd i bother

don't know where to find this tutorial.but just for the records.my xbox ran win98,2000 and xp.98 ran...something like fast,2000 was slow and xp took a lifetime to load

but what i don't understand.if you want to use windows why don't you use your comp for it?

What about because my Xbox is more powerful than my PC huh?

BTW, how did you get windows working? (bochs's or linux?)

He didn't say Windows 2000 went fast, he said it was slow, there is a comma there.

Windows 98 I could see running good, considering it only takes about 32 megs of ram.

Are you on crack? Linux works on any CPU because it's open sourced.

Better you should reduce your amount of recreational substances. :-) Show me a Linux compiled for a 4004 or SX-7!

Just add more ram, that should help out a lot of issues, probebly what the multithread error message thingy is.

Ok.... so running windows isn't a good idea.

But, can VMware run other things, like windows progs? (kinda like what wine does.)

Nope, because you need to install an OS on that virtual machine (hence, where VM comes from) in order to use any kind of software within said VM. If you want to emulate only one Windows program at a time, Wine is the only way to go.
