Problem With Debian Linux
« on: November 16, 2002, 10:40:00 AM »

Hi I'm using Ed's Live CD 5 and I finally got sound and internet to work.  I'm using KDE 3.0.3 Desktop and I'm having problem with noatun to play my mp3 and mpg.  It plays fine when I don't have any other programs running in the background, but if I do run another application it starts skipping really bad.  I assume that the problem is that I don't have enough physical memory in the background.  Lets face the fact that 64mb is just not enough.  I mostly only have about 1-3 mb free of physical memory, which is just not enough.  Anyone no of a memory manager that may fix this problem or a way to disable some functions that maybe take up to much memory.

Ed's Live CD 7 will not let you install KDE 3.0.3 only 2.2.2 what's up with that?

Well I'm using XMMS and twm instead of KDE Desktop and it works fine!
