Xboxhdm Linux Cd Not Found
« on: January 28, 2012, 04:53:00 AM »

It's usually one of these problems:

- your motherboard only has one IDE port
- your CD drive is connected to the wrong IDE port - it has to be on the secondary master, with the hard drive on the primary master

If your motherboard has only one IDE port then you have to use xboxhdm 2.2.

You've been told most of this before.....it would be better if you stuck to one thread, in the newbie section, you'll get more appropriate help that way.

not technically true..
if you only have 1 ide port then the hard disk has to be set to master and the cd has to be set to slave.
Either way the basis is the same
the hard disk has to be Primary master. cant be primary slave or secondary master and secondary slave is right out.

It depends on your motherboard / BIOS. Some work with only one IDE port, some don't! ldotsfan, scullc and fwz didn't make xboxhdm 2.1/2.2 because they were bored, they made it because xboxhdm 1.9 had limitations - one of which was the need for 2 separate IDE ports on most motherboards at a time when most new motherboards only had one IDE port.

I suspect that you're just lucky, and yours is one that works with xboxhdm 1.9. smile.gif

The best general advice is still to use xboxhdm 2.2 on motherboards with only one IDE port.
