Removing A Very Old Softmod
« on: March 19, 2010, 08:53:00 AM »

Why upgrade if nothing's broken?

Nevertheless I recommend CASH disc for that purpose: Krayzie's Ndure over AID.

Alternative install Kingroach's Ndure over ftp. You'll need to cold-boot with Frosty's rescue disc.

The most important file for a softmod is the eeprom.bin backup. Grab a copy(ConfigMagic/Evox) and store in your PC for safekeeping.

but I cant see where any of this is valuable in removing a softmod.

My bad, you are right. I misread and thought you wanted to upgrade the softmod somehow  dry.gif. Frosty's disc is another way to disable shadow C and gain ftp access to real C. Once you have access to real C and delete all the files and replace with stock msdash files (extract from CASH disc with qwix), the softmod is removed.
