NTSC or PAL? Your xbox need to switch to NTSC first. Thereafter use XBMC to do this.

A guide can be found here

Is it possible to activate 5.1 sound without have to activate the component out,
maybe use s-video for video and get digital 5,1 sound from the optical out?

Not a softmod question, but read the notes in another forum of the scene.
Coaxial sound works in 2 modes.

Yeah i know its not a softmod question, just thought it could me a good followup question.
The Cable only have Video out:
component (red green blue), s-video and composite(yellow)

Audio out:
composit red / white and optical out

i get sound from optical out either way but its only 5.1 sound if i have the component activated.

so im pretty screwed on getting 5,1 sound from my xbox if im not runing it on component out then.
if i dont do some modifications?

When in NTSC and component activated but s-video connected to tv the screen is black and white and jumps around.

When in PAL and component activated but s-video connected to tv the picture is clean but black and white.
and i can change to digital audio and so.
if i just could get color on svideo with component activated on the cable i would be happie like hell =)
