Hi, i was trying to softmod my xbox version 1.0 but having severe issues with it.
First time i tried the ndure, booted well, got error code 12 as i didn't connect my thomson dvd drive, did the hotswap, and followed the tutorial on the site here did a backup first and did option 1 to install the files.
#Got this message:

Checking for xbox dashversion.
Couldn't find latest dashboard
You might have a problem if you are dual booting to ms dash
Continue installing ndure : " i typed yes"

Then i got

cp: write error: No space left on drive
copying c drive backup to shadowc
cp: cannot create directory /xbox/hack/xboxdashdata.17****
cp: cannot create directory /xbox/hack/xboxdashdata.18****
cp: cannot create directory /xbox/hack/xodash
CD/ndure/C/shawowc/Filler1.img no such file or directory
/xbox/c/shadowc resc/default.xbe
/xbox/c/shadowc resc/ evox.ini

So i restored the backup and tried again, got same error again, read a few thread on the forum here and some users with same experience said if using option2, install ndure only will solve the problem. tried that, without success. Also tried to restore, backup and then option 2 without success.
I tried again and now it doesn't even let me restore the backup, it says :

cp:write error: no space left on drive.

Anyone one can help how i can restore my xbox again ?
When doing the  option 2, i've opened a second terminal on linux and find out that /xbox/hack has a direcotry with size 339mb, and it gets full and can't proceed. I don't have anything on my xbox, its completely empty, i got halo 2 off ebay to upgrade the dashboard 5960.
Also burn 2 different cds ndure 3.0 and 3.1 no success at all, i am just trying to softmode to have xbmc.

The reason you don't get a reply is probably because it has been answered a 100 times already.

Find the stock M$dash files. You can try to locate the slayers rescue iso, and extract that with a program like qwix to get the proper files for the C and E partition.

Copy those files to the xboxhdm C and E folder. Add the ndure 3.1 as well. There is no need anymore to use the 3.0 nowadays.

Create the xboxhdm iso and burn it to a cd or dvd.

After your hotswap use the options to create an xbox harddisk like you would do with a blank new harddisk, or use the xbrowser to erase the C partition before you copy the cd dash files to it.

Since you didn't check your dashboard version, I asume you don't know your kernel version either.
In that case, install the proper unmodded dash files first and search it up in the m$dash. Your softmod won't work if you use a wrong kernel version.

Make sure you do it right the first time. If you mess up the dash, it's possible that you will get an error screen and no more options to hotswap.

If you have important gamesaves on your E partition, be carefull not to erase those. Some xboxhdm actions erase the E partition and the gamesaves with it.
