Installing A Larger Hdd With Softmod (krayzie) ?
« on: January 12, 2010, 02:06:00 AM »

If your new drive would be locked with the wrong password, than you would see a multi language error screen with an error 6 message in the top left corner.
If your xbox is a 1.0 model, it probably won't show the code.

The locking password is calculated from the eeprom hddkey and the harddisk model and serial number.

If you created the xboxhdm bootdisk with the backup of your xbox eeprom (eeprom.bin file) in the right place, than the package will calculate the correct password itself to lock the harddisk.

You don't need ROAD2 or ROAD3.

Could you describe a little more in detail what happens if you install the new harddisk in your xbox?
How exactly did you lock the new harddisk?

The Crazy Ndure softmod is based upon the nkpatcher and supports harddisks bigger than 137GB. The bios is patched to use LBA48.

regards.

OK, I actually locked it manually using hdlock -p *password I found on hdinfo.txt*, what i'll do is copy the eeprom to a floppy, regenerate the pass for the new disk using xboxhd.

I get an immediate blinking red led, and a multi lang error, no code. (just like if you were to install an unlocked drive in)

nkp11 doesn't have that problem and your hdd locking problem is unrelated. How did you get the eeprom backup? Did you use Krayzie's Extras - Professional Mode? Alternative it should be the backup done at the point of the initial softmod.
