I am right smack in the middle of modding my xbox with hotswapping, got the disc etc etc, and this is whats going on...

I'm using Textbook's tutorial.

I get my computer to boot into the bootable disc fine, and the xbox unlocks the harddrive (the DOS says it does) but when I get to where you put 'xbrowser' into the DOS, it says it can't find the LINUX disc, I'm figuring because my DVD drive is a SATA not IDE? Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong/a fix?

it is because you are using a sata drive, i was doing softmod JUST last night, and had the same damn issue, installed an ide drive on the pc i was using, and it worked just fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Dammnnn it.. That really sucks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) My motherboard doesn't even have a slave IDE, unless the slave IDE is smaller than a normal one? Thanks for the info.
