Softmod Seemed To Work, But Doesn't Do Anything
« on: October 19, 2009, 09:36:00 PM »

I supposedly installed the UnleashX dashboard to my xbox using SID 4 and during the installation everything ran smoothly, however, the only evidence I get of ever having softmodded my xbox is a red led light. Every start up I have to set my xbox's date and time, and then it goes to what seems to be the normal dashboard. How exactly do I get the softmod to work.

By the way, I am not running a dual-boot xbox, because my power button doesn't turn my xbox on for some reason, so the softmod should be the only thing that's running.

You need to update your softmod to Krayzie 1.1.1. If your Xbox will boot a homebrew disc then you can use HeXEn or Frosty's+CASH, if it won't then you have to redo the softmod from scratch. I've sent you a PM with a bit more detail.

I am pretty sure that on some older softmods, the MicroSoft Dashboard will "present itself" if you have left the machine unplugged for an extended period of time. I once used one like this. Just reboot the machine after you have correctly set the clock. If you need help, the time right now is:

8:26 PM 10/20/2009

When you reboot, you should go right to Unleash X or The xBox Media Center or Whatever you installed.

Good Luck!

Try an igr after you set the clock.
(Press the left and right trigger, the black and the back button at the same time)

This might switch you to your modded dash.

regards.

An "igr"? What would that be?

igr stands for "in game reset". It's a way to return to your dashboard by pressing the left and right trigger button together with the black and back button. If you activate those 4 buttons simultanously after you set the clock in the M$dash, it should bring you to the Unleashx or Xbmc dash. You can also use it to switch from a game back to your dashboard.

regards.

Really? Cool! Does that work for all softmods and/or retail?
