Modded Xbox's, Lost The Mod Chips
« on: February 03, 2020, 09:50:00 AM »

I have 3 xboxs that were modded way back when, but since then all the mod chips were removed and sold ( not by me). Now all the boxes boot with errors, or just do the on/off 2 or 3 times then blink red/green.  Is there a way to get them booted up with a softmod of some sort?

If the xboxes are fragging, there is something wrong with the mobo's in them. This is most of the time trace damage due to bad soldering work. If it didn't occur after you did the soldering, so you don't know the area were the traces could be damaged, than it can be difficult to find the problem. The area is usually around the LPC holes, but can be anywhere on the mobo.

If the xbox boots into an error screen, than it might be helpfull to know the code displayed in the left upper corner. (If there is one displayed as 1.0 xboxes don't show the error code.)

There is no magic procedure to revive a xbox.

regards.

All of them had the xbit modchip with no solder so i dont know why ant traces would be damaged but if that is the case i have no clue how to find or fix damaged traces, so i guess those are junk.

The one that gives am error code is sometimes 9 sometimes 7.  I think those are harddrive errors.  Is there a solderless chip still available that works for 1.0-1.6b i can buy, if i need to go that route.

thanks
