i sucessfully installed the ndure softmod using the hotswap method. But I was never able to get the MS dash to boot. So i was pooking around the menus and changing the nkpatcher options. And i chose a different number from 3941 to 5835 or something like that. And now i can't get the xbox to boot. It will do the bloby thing, then go to the xbox logo, then either freeze there, or go to a black screen. Is there anyway i can fix this without reformating the harddrive?

You need to rebuild the hard drive.

When you make your new Kingroach NDURE 3.1 file set, don't select any options other than your kernel version - leave all the others at the default settings, that way your MS-Dash will work. Then follow these instructions.

Obviously if you have your eeprom you don't need to hotswap - you put the eeprom on your xboxhdm disk, use xboxhdm option 4 first (I think it's called Boot to DOS with locking utilities) then unlockhd -a, and after you've rebuilt the disk you select option 4 again and relock the disk with lockhd -a.

I was reading the link you attached. And in it you said you needed the slayers disk stuff and the kingroaches ndure software. I was wondering if i needed the slayers disk because the site with the instructions never said anything about a slayers disk. And following there instructions everything worked fine except for the ms dash. So here's a link to the site that had the downloads they told me to get. Instructables

what color is the ring of light on the front of the xbox if it is orange and also see if you can get a backup game to boot if you can you might be able to use Auto Installer Deluxe to get in and fix the softmod. Actually you may be able to use and boot disk with a file browser on it to fix the softmod. But try a backup game first and see if it boots

Thanks for the ideas! The light on the xbox is green. Which i think means good...but it just goes to a black screen after the microsoft logo.

But i think reloading the HD would be best for me because I made a backup on my computer just in case something like this happened.

If anybody could comment, I was wondering about the slayers disk files. If you could check the site that i mentioned earlier and tell me if i would still need to the slayers stuff? Thanks!

if you have a complete backup or the stock C:\ no you dont need slayers but if you get it you maybe able to fix you xbox without removing the hdd
