Video Stops Playing After Around 10 Seconds
« on: December 13, 2008, 03:50:00 AM »

hi
i have modded three xboxes using the ndure softmod with xboxhdm and have two working extremely well
(xbmc is the default dash with latest t3ch build) however the last xbox that i did seems to have a few problems.

1: when the power has been removed for a period of time and the time and date need to be reset when the xbox is turned on using the power button it displays a screen saying that it needs a service. however i got around this using the eject button to turn it on.

2: after transferring some videos etc on to the hdd they only play for around ten seconds then they stop i checked the videos i transfered and they are fine.

note: i upgraded the hdd to 500gb using the recommended seagate hdd
         i am i bit of a noob

please help

I have managed to fix my main problems
i was getting a service error # 21 which i was unable to fix despite trying many different approaches
so i gave on that one.

the other problem of the video playing for a short time i resolved by reformatting the g and f partitions using xboxpartitioner and changing the cluster size to 32k.
the problem that i was experiencing was due to corrupt data.

You probably don't have the stock M$dash 5960 files on your shadowc partition.
Once that is fixed, you should be able to set the clock when you boot with the power button.
(It will go to the M$dash clock setting screen.) After that, you can do an igr to return to your normal dashboard.

regards.
