Xbox Bricked, Or Not Bricked? That Is The Question!
« on: November 12, 2008, 07:58:00 PM »

I recently changed my default dashboard to XBMC. All was well... until I wanted to upgrade my XBMC version. During my altercation of .xbe (dashboard, I hoped) files, I must have deleted a file needed by the Xbox to start the dashboard.

I boot my Xbox, and I get a black screen after the ''flubber'' animation and the Xbox logo with "Microsoft" under it. I'm not exactly sure if my Xbox is bricked, and unfixable or not. And if not, can I fix it?

I've tried to use Frosty's Xbox Rescue Disc, and the Slayer Rescue Disc, An AID disk, and a copy of my backed up Mechassault game, and had no luck. The discs will not boot, yet regular Xbox games will.

The Discs were all burned at 1.0x, 2.0x, and 4.0x.

My Xbox is v1.6b with a Samsung DVD-ROM drive.

Thanks in advance
