1. Do you have eeprom backup?
2. Without game disc, does xbox boot without errors to msdash?
3. Which softmod package was used?
4. Color of LED?
5. What exactly happened when you redo the softmod? Which tutorial did you follow?

Ndure has shadowC protection so it's unlikely a game copied to hdd can corrupt the softmod. But point 2 is in your favor as it means you can still softmod with any of the 3 exploitable game discs. At the least with the game disc and gamesave, you can gain ftp access. When you tried unlocking the hdd in point 5, did you plug in the AV cable? It needs to be plugged in even when you are doing it blind with no connection to TV. You might want to retry the hotswap before trying the game disc. Of course if you have a mem. card and the 3 game discs around life's easier without having to do hotswapping.

If you've got ftp access just ftp the softmod files directly to the Xbox.

You would be starting from scratch. Delete the contents of E, put the Kingroach E files there, delete the contents of C, put the Slayers C files then the Kingroach C files there. If you used the Slayers C files as the base for the Kingroach build then you don't have to copy the Slayers C files across. Just make sure you are looking at the real C. You should be, but worth checking before you start.

Possibly not, but it's worth a try. Boot using Frosty's rescue disc because it disables virtual C, so you can then ftp to the real C.

If it won't boot Frosty's then you need to use the Splinter Cell exploit to get ftp access as you did previously.

When you say "it had eeprom" what do you mean? You need to use the eeprom of the Xbox you are putting the drive in.....

What happens when you try to lock the drive?

When I said that, I meant that the correct eeprom was on the cd, so it should lock and unlock.

It says that the drive is frozen right after I type in "lockhd -a"

CODE

q: My bios is now fully up to date and finally I have a new IDE option. I can set the hdd to boot or non-boot. Could non-boot help with bypassing the xboxhdd frozen state?

a: Maybe. I dont see how trying it could hurt. You can always reboot and revert your settings. Once bootet run detectpm to display the status of the drive.

An observation on my PC (Compaq) was that before I found that I could bypass the freeze lock by disabling auto-detection, I could switch the drive to primary slave and it would boot without setting freeze lock. For locking this is OK since we dont need to access the fatx filesystem. Using the linux locking tools for this you need to run the actual locking tool manually (lockhd is a script wrapped around the actual locking tool for user-friendlyness). If on primary slave run :

CODE

find-cd2 check  (to mount the xboxhdm CD)
hdtool -d /dev/hdb -e /CD/eeprom/eeprom.bin -o LOCK

ndure 3.0 is very picky you must have all the file's of the MS dash and the clock must be set...
use 3.1 if you can
if not
set for dual boot using eject and then set the clock not forgetting to press the green button
to actually set the clock
then reboot to the dash or a boot disk to to fix the missing files
