Install Dual-boot Over Current Softmod?
« on: August 27, 2008, 11:35:00 PM »

Hello

Is it safe/possible to install a dual-boot XBMC/Retail dash over an existing softmod? And if so, what software is needed?

I currently have a font hack installed that boots to XBMC. I'm satisfied with my setup, but I would also like the functionality of dual-booting for Live purposes.

note to mods- I made a similar thread in gamesave exploits, there doesnt seem to be a delete option so I'm reposting in the right section

Ndure family of softmods have dual-boot capabilities. Easiest way to upgrade to Ndure is CASH 1.1 disc. It comes with Krayzie's Ndure which has Extras to activate dual boot.

You can always do it manually over ftp:

has the rough sequence. But you can ignore the PAL/NTSC/Enigmah stuff. Always grab eeprom.bin to PC before attempting any of these

Well I decided to say what the hell and just give it a try so I ran the Ndure - knave softmod installer (from SID) and installed the dual-boot option. It worked....sort of.

When i press eject, i get a blank screen. I'm still trying to work this problem out.
When i press power, it loads xbmc like it used to...only component video out doesn't work now
