i have already made the boot disk and everything but i realized that when i got to do the hot swap that the thing i unplug to plug into my xbox hd is the same wire that the cd reads from...
so is there anyway i could make a partition on my pcs drive to boot it from instead of a disk or boot from usb?
The same connection for the PC's cd cdrive and xbox hdd is IDE.
Simplest solution is don't use the xboxhdm boot disc.
Instead use xplorer360 (yes it works for xbox ver1) instead since that runs on windows. So your free IDE connection can be used for the xbox hdd instead.
Partition 3 is C drive and partition 4 E drive. Make sure ernie.xtf is copied before xbox.xtf in xodash folder. Do backups of C drive to PC before overriding existing ones in partition 3 from those from Kingroach Ndure 3.1 installer created files. I assume your xbox existing msdash is ver 5960.
