So, the 2nd xbox I modded I thought id install a 120gb Maxtor HD (I cheked it to be compatible). Did the "Ndure and XboxHDM hotswapping softmod" as usual and everything worked fine. After that I took unleashx dash and ran the "default.xbe" to have full acess or whatever to the C drive. Copied everything off the C and E drive to my computer and put them on an XboxHDM dvd. Before this I had gotten the eeprom.bin backed up and put that on the disc also.
Plugged in the 120gig hd to my computer. Put the dvd in, booted from it. Install from scratch. let XboxHDM do its thing, said yes to buid C and E drives. and format F drive. After that was all done, I locked the HD. turned off the computer and put the new 120 gig hard drive in the Xbox. Booted the xbox and the Xbox logo startup screen pops up and then the screen goes black.
If anyone knows if im missing a step or doing something wrong, I could use the help.
LED color of xbox? When softmod was working with old hdd, what is the default LED color? Screen goes black right after flubber animation? Check if you have ftp access .
Also stick an original gamedisc in and cold boot with that. Try also with a boot disc like Frosty's xbox rescue disc.
