Hello everyone,

I have a xbox v1.0 i believe and i try to softmod using the Ndure Softmod Through Xboxhdm way. Now what i did wrong was choose number 2 (option 2) when the xbrowser/ndure prompt came up and i think that deleted all of drive c and put just the ndure files in there. So now when ever i try to start up the xbox it give a error 21 i think it does really give a number. Is there a way i can fix this? and i never got a chance to backup anything so i dont have the emprom. If anyone can help me out i would appreciate it alot.

1. Xbox 1.0 won't show the error no so you have something else.
2. You chose this right?
CODE
[2] Install Ndure [Replace C drive with Ndure]

3. This by itself doesn't cause an error 21 as the xbox should be able to boot with ndure's C files.

Did you try booting with eject button or power button?

Oh ya, i almost forgot when i did the step i did back up the c drive and i do have the emprom.bin file i believe. I was able to login via xplorer360 way. I tried to insert the missing files that way but it would just crash and close but i was able to backup everything to my pc. Could that help my situation?

I also have an extra HD i would like to use and its the exact same hd thats in my xbox box except its bigger (20gb) and i know its lockable could i just use my emprom file and format that and lock it and swap that in, would that work? can anyone point me in the right directing if that would work please.

Iam also not really sure if i have the emprom file. It says "bios.bin" is that it? If not i know i have the emprom from my v1.6 xbox console could i some how use another emprom file to help me out on this?

thanks again,
DK

1. bios.bin is not the eeprom file.
2. You may try to rebuild C drive with xboxhdm but using Ndure C folder contents as the contents for C in the iso and likewise for E drive. In other words, Ndure 3.1 C and E folders replace the original C and E folders on the xboxhdm iso.
3. A xbox 1.0 is like flying blind as we don't know where things go wrong so we just have to eliminate errors one at a a time.

Good luck!

thanks for the replys:) so far i haven't figured it out. I ran down most of the error and it seems to be the same trouble i ran into 2-3 times before. First it was a pain to unlock the v1 xbox. The way i had to unlock it was by puting a game into it and playing for a couple min. that was the only way to unlock it it seems. So my problem is basicaly unlocking the HD again which is nearly in possible with this dam v1 consule:(

If you have any ideas on how i can unlock it by hotswap (dont have the emprom) can you or anyone shear. Usually i wait till i here the click from the HD but this one doesnt even click. It just sounds silent with its old self lol.

Try the disconnect dvd drive method for hotswapping.

Also i have another question i have like 2 other original xbox which i would like to fix and give to my siblings but i have been stumped and they have been sitting in my basement for almost a year. 1 has a bad emprom and 1 doesnt even start (e.g. no screen/no flubber) any help with all this would be greatly appreciated.

I was also wondering about the bad emprom xbox (which are both v1.6), is it possible to somehow flash a new emprom onto that xbox without a mod-chip?

Head for the hardware forum. No flubber at all - could be hardware problems. Not possible to flash a new eeprom onto xbox without a modchip. Unless you physically desolder the chip and flash it elsewhere.

Try xplorer360 to see if it can read the xbox hdd. Partition 3 is C drive, partition 4 is E drive.

xplorer360 cannot recreate the missing partition. Only xboxhdm can do that.

Too much hotswapping is not good for the hdd. If xplorer360 sees a missing partition and xboxhdm can't read the partition table, the hdd may already be damaged. And it's difficult to know exactly what's wrong with the ver 1.0 xbox.

You can try to do a rebuild with xboxhdm but if that doesn't work, you may need to get to build an eeprom reader and a replacement hdd.
