I have a softmod installed on my xbox and l wanted to add a bigger HDD. As l was finished buliding my HDD in hdm and Locking it, l unplugged it to go connect to my xbox to see if it worked but instead it boots up to the Xbox microsoft logo then goes to call customer support screen with no error code. My HDD is compatible with Locking l checked it. But l decided to go to try to rebuild the HDD again but the HDD gives me a error in the begining in Hdm and when l connect it to my pc it doesnt even recgonize in windows but says its connected when l boot up the computer.

1. You have a xbox 1.0 hence the service screen has no error no.
2. Windows is not expected to recognize the FATX partitions of the xbox drive.
3. How did you backup your eeprom? Virtual eeprom feature of softmod may be hiding real eeprom.
4. Unlock the drive with xboxhdm option 3 unlockd -a command.
5. Related to point 3, read my sig's link for Kingroach's Ndure If you used Krayzie's Ndure, locate the eeprom.bin in E:\UDATA

Unlock it with xboxhdm boot option 3 first.  Then reboot before you try boot option 1.

it doesn't let me boot to option 3, l told you it gives me an error during the process of going to option 3, therefore l can't get to option 1.

Sorry if that's confusing.

You have to give more details on the error for us to help. A picture or the details of the error message?

lt gives me these errors....

Drive seek status error

drive status error

which is preventing me to boot to option 1 then go into xboxhd to erase everthing.

Much help will be appreciated l've been trying to get this to work forever l know theres someone out there that can help me. All l want to do is get everthing erased on this HDD and get to have another chance to build it from scratch.

Before you do a hdd rebuild with xboxhdm option 1, you need to unlock it with boot option 3 first. I was asking for the errors leading to option 3 in the earlier post.

lt won't boot to option 1 because it says this while it's loading to option 1......

lnitdisk...

then nothing happens.

then if l boot to option 3 it says the errors l stated earlier before.

So what is the last line on the boot screen for option 3?

get any disk formatting software ( like UBCD/ Hiren's boot cd).  Since its still unlocked, you should be able to format the drive with any disk partition software.. They should also fix any sector errors in the drive.. Format to NTFS. Then rerun the xbohdm and rebuild the hard drive using option "1".
