Due to flooding in my basement, I recently purchased a refurbished XBOX to replace my original V 1.0 K3944 D5960 softmodded with Krayzie's 1.1 Ndure. Even though the water damage fried the box, the 250GB Seagate HD was still intact, so I thought I'd try to put it into the new one (not sure of the version, but K5838 D5960). I was able to unlock the drive with xboxdhm and relock with the new eeprom; however, when I hook up the drive to the new box, after the flubber animation, the screen goes blank. The LED stays solid green the entire time.
I was thinking of copying the contents of the C: and E: from the new box over to the new drive with xbrowser, but wasn't sure if this would work. I also thought that I might be able to copy a few files over (fonts?) instead of the entire folder contents, but wasn't sure which ones.
What is the easiest way to fix this while keeping the existing F: and G: drive contents intact?
Kingroach Ndure 3.1 will generate the necessary softmod files for C and E drives, including the kernel specific fonts. It will also generate the script for xboxhdm which you trigger from xbrowser. This will merge the D5960 from the new xbox drive with the softmod files nicely for features like dual-boot (eject boot to msdash, power boot to dash)
