It's been a while since I've done this - 3+ years. I'm in the same boat, no games or mem card, but I do have one chipped Xbox. Is the hotswap the easiest method??

or move modchip to softmod xbox to install softmod files and remove when done if that easier

Well my chip is soldered in, so removing will be a pain. Swap it is!
