Cant Seem To Unlock Xbox Hd
« on: March 11, 2008, 03:33:00 AM »

Hi,

it could be an issue with your pc motherboard bios.
Are you sure you are following the procedure exactly as described?

If trying another pc isn't an option, you could build an eeprom reader or temporary install a modchip to extract the xbox eeprom.bin file. Once you have that file, you can unlock the harddisk without hotswapping.

Yeah im pretty sure im doing everything right.

And i dont think its my bios cause the computer is detecting the hardrive. although it may be having problems reading the hardrive. i can probally find another computer to try this on so ill probally try that.

building a eeprom reader though is beyond my skill (and budget cause i are broke  tongue.gif )

but i did here about this program called hddunlock (www.hddunlock.com) could that get the pass i need?

-edit-

btw im tryig to do teh hotswap on a Dell Dimension 2400. not sure if its compatible.

i was looking in my XPS 410 and it turns out i still have a PCI card with 2 sata and a ide port on it, from when i modded my xbox 360.  Could i use teh IDE port on the PCI card and see if it works or will it not work because its not on the Mobo.

sigh... i was hopeing modding the xbox one would be easier than modding the 360... i was wrong  dry.gif

how much do mod chips cost anyways....

Hi,

the hddunlock program can't help you. It is used if you want to recover the drive. The data on the drive is lost. Also, you will never know what password is used to lock the drive.

A cheap modchip should cost something like 20 euro. This is still more expensive than the eeprom reader.

Modding the xbox 1 is easy, once you have the proper working tools. The eeprom.bin file is the key you need to unlock your harddisk.
