New Hdd Woes.
« on: January 02, 2008, 07:20:00 AM »

I was wanting to put my Western Digital 250GB HDD in my Xbox. I researched for a few days, and came across tutorials for xboxhdm and HDDDriver. I first tried with Xboxhdm, and with no accomplishment, I did not succeed. Although my boot disk may have been corrupt, as I did not check it. Then I tried the HDD Driver yesterday. I copied everything seamlessly, my WD drive got the image file copied to it. I booted up to MSDos and used HDLOCK to lock it, verified with atapwd. I put the drive in, and got an error code 6. (The error code 6 came up both times.) I unlocked the drive, and tried to redo it, but not a single try worked. I talked to a guy today that has had luck modding his with a newer harddrive, on his currently softmodded xbox. I told him exactly what I did, and he said everything should be working. I just can't seem to get it right. Any help would be appreciated. The harddrive model is WD2500BB.

I got the password with XboxHDM and LiveInfo. They both showed the same password (Different than the OEM Drive's password). I have tried several different times to get this to work, with no prevail.

Yes, I have unlocked the OE drive several times with the password from the eeprom.bin I got. I used ATAPWD to verify I unlocked it, and it was. I then proceeded to use HDD-Driver, and it successfully copied everything to a 10GB file, which I then copied to my WD drive, and then continued to lock it. I got the error code 6.
