Just Wanting To Run Backups?
« on: December 29, 2007, 11:01:00 PM »

I am just looking to flash in a way that lets me run backups.  I am fine with and would prefer to keep the stock ms dash

Are any of these exploits designed to just flash but leave the dash as is? with the ability to boot a backup?

Also on a side note. if i wanted to flash a xbmc xbox. and thats all i use it for. I assume if i install an exploit designed to launch a custom dash, would I be able to jsut copy xbmc over and place it in that dir. rename the xbe and reboot?

I have the cards, game etc and am aware of and can easily get to ftp etc. Just trying to figure out which package I want to use the most..

with softmods you don't "flash" anything. And you can set any dash you want. even the msdash. As option you could use a dualboot (xbmc with power button and msdash with eject button). If you want to do a gamesave exploit you might want to look at the pinned topics for the gamesave installer.

There are no such installers as far as I'm aware. But it's pretty easy to just set the msdash as your primary dash afterwards.

what would one have to do though?

As the exploit directs to the evox dash located elsewhere does it not? So how would i tell the exploit to point back to msdash? or maybe rewrite some lines of code in the installer to do this?

when doing a basic install simply put the C:\xboxdash.xbe in e:\dashboard and name it default.xbe
