An "old" Softmodder Wonders About The News
« on: December 02, 2007, 01:49:00 PM »

Hi,

A couple of years back, I softmodded by Xbox using the Crazy NDure installer.  Everything went fine, and since then my Xbox has been running XBMC.

A friend of mine now asked if I could softmod his Xbox too.  I haven't really kept up with the latest developments, so I have to ask: what's the recommended/common procedure these days for softmodding?  Has anything changed (like new Xbox kernels that might interfere) that I should be aware of?

Also, I still have the "softmodding kit" stored somewhere (MechAssault + USB adaptor cable + working USB stick) -- I hope this stuff is still good?

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

You can still use the same procedure that you used to softmod your Xbox. Most likely, you could still even use your same Ndure installer.

No, there really isn't anything that I think you need to be alerted of. You might just want to do some reading to refresh your memory on the subject.

Yes, you can still use those. smile.gif

I'd suggest reading some of the pinned topics in the forum I'm moving your thread to. That way, as I said above, you can make sure you'd be doing everything correctly.

Thanks xboxgamer733 -- that was a really informative reply!

I'm glad my previous experience can be of use, but I'll follow your recommendations anyway!

Cheers,
