1ghz Mod, Gta Too Fast

I recently got my CPU/RAM upgraded to 1ghz-256k/128 by trusty. Most of my games run at normal speed when patched using shonks 1ghz patcher... However, GTA san andreas (the only game I still play) runs too fast. The patcher reports a successful patch but it has no effect.

Can someone please tell me if I can patch the .xbe manually, or am I stuck with this?
