my dashboard on my xbox (softmod) got screwed, and I get a boot loop. I know what the problem is, and how I could fix it, I just need to know if there's a way to be able to FTP to my harddrive with out being able to use the soft mod, any suggestions?

Sounds like your getting clock loop, which can't be fixed without hotswapping or using XBOXHDM.

I doubt it will boot a autoinstaller/boot disc, but if you can boot one then you'd be able to boot it and then FTP in and fix things as needed. If you have a burned game you could test, I'd test that and see if it boots it. If it does boot a burned game then it will boot an autoinstaller/boot disc.

Also BTW if you test an original game and it doesn't boot (be sure to put it in and then power off, then back on while the disc is in the drive, aka coldboot) then there is no point in trying a burned game or an autoinstaller/boot disc.

Most likely you'll be using XBOXHDM the normal way or via hotswap to fix it though.

EDIT: And I'm going to move this on over to the "XBE Exploits" section as this has nothing to do with EvoX dash (I know you probably had an EvoX dash, but technically you have a softmod problem). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

my xbox will play back ups and i can get to the xbox hd (where it shows all your saved games/softmod) can i just delete those files and reinstall the soft mod? im noob with hotswapping or using XBOXHDM. were can i find a good guide?

download slayers installer 2.7 or AID boot disk.. you should be able to boot them if you can boot backups.. Then you will have ftp access.
