Ok I redownloaded the xboxhdm 1.9 off of this site and redownloaded the ndure 3.0 off of xbins.  Remade my disk, included the updated ndure script.  burnt i out.  Same results.  My files are good as far as I am aware (Im fairly sure I didnt make an error when configuring my xboxhdm disk.)

you need to have the hdd set as primary master and the cd drive as secondary master.  that is the only way i am able to get it to function properly.  the hdd and cd drives need to be setup on different IDE cables.

CASE CLOSED

I tried running the xboxhdm disk on another computer (a cheap newer dell) and it worked fine.  I havent run the hack yet but I was able to run the xbrowser command without getting the "CD-ROM" error.

Just for future reference

The CD-ROM Error Probably means your hardware (in your computer) is incomputable with this distribution of Linux!

The mother board I was using that didnt work was the following:
Asus p4c800-e delux

Thanks for the help!
