« on: October 28, 2006, 10:13:00 PM »

so i copied my drive and its contents to his new HDD, about 40 gb HDD

and tried to run it on his box

wont boot, and im not sure what to do, i thought maybe it was the TDATA or UDATA, so i copied those over

nothing, i copied his c:/ over, nothing

can someone please help me out here?

You have to lock the new hd to his Xbox's motherboard before it will beginning using it as if it was the original hd.

the hd will only work in the xbox if its got the eeprom from the same xbox. u can not take an xbox hd out of one and put it in another one cuz the epprom numbers are different. put the orginal hd back in then hook it up to your pc and get the epprom and the c drive, then use xboxhdm to make an iso but make sure u put the eeprom in the epprom folder and the c drive in the c drive folder! then when u burn the iso to disk leave it in the disk drive unplug ur pc and swap ur pcs hd with ur new xbox one. then wen u turn on ur pc it will boot from that disk and u can make a new xbox hd from scratch and with the correct eeprom number so it will work in that xbox. c its all down to the epprom cuz every motherboard on every xbox has a different one, and if it dont match the one on the hd then it wont work. just read the readme file in xboxhdm and ull be fine. O and remember to lock the drive after making it!

How did you manage to get your friend's EEPROM? Are they just numbers?
