« on: September 23, 2006, 09:16:00 PM »

What Can CASH v1.1 Do For You?

"special" softmod will have to use an original disc and transfer the files via Action Replay or a USB
  device)

* Run Krayzies Ndure v1.1.1 installer/backdoor for 007, MA, or SC straight from the disc.

* Upgrade Krayzies Ndure v1.0 to v1.1.1 with just this disc.

* Upgrade Krayzies Ndure v1.1 to v1.1.1 with just this disc.

* Ability to install Krayzies Extras with just this disc.

* Support for Upgraded HD's that want to use the F partition to store apps/dashs

* Ability to change boot dash between Evox, UnleashX, Avalaunch, and XBMC

* Ability to change or keep boot dash and install all apps

A must have for anyone with a Soft modded xbox. The best soft mod meets the best set of tools. It has saved my brother when is son turned his xbox to mush. It also saved my friend who had AID and crashed his xbox.

I just upgraded from CASH v1.0 to CASH v1.1 and it is great. CASH makes modding your xbox really easy. So if you have used CASH then let him know so he doesn't think his work is for nothing.

Nice work cerealkillajme.

However fellas remember and respect the rules. No links and also no "obvious hints". It's out there I'm sure they can find it.

I was also looking in the usual place for it (our favourite place for "bins for x") but with no luck  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Wasn't there supposed to be everything there?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

I have been PM'ed and seen alot of posts about "How to turn a Chipped XBOX into a Softmodded XBOX?". I did not forsee many people wanting to do this during the creation of CASH so I didn't put a section in for it. I will put a "Chipped XBOX to Softmodded XBOX" section in the next version of CASH (not too sure when that will be out, waiting for Krayzie to update his installer first) though for the people that want to use it. Below is a rough guide to how you can use CASH v1.1 to install Krayzies Ndure v1.1.1 on a chipped XBOX. Please remember though that this guide will be kind of half-arsed as this wasn't something I planned in CASH so you'll have to move around the disc to different sections to get the options you need to use. But you can follow the guide below to softmod your chipped box without having to use any Action Replay, Mem Cards, USB device, or any of the 3 softmod games.

Preword: There are many huge differences in how a softmod and hardmod works. For one a hardmod doesn't care if you have a m$dash at all and will work fine without one. Having a m$dash on a softmodded box is a MUST and you have to have it to install Krayzies softmod. Another thing, hardmods use a bios that can boot a dash from virtually anywhere on the HDD, so you could have a dashboard on C and other junk there. Personally I don't think anything should ever be stored on the C drive and prefer to keep mine free of anything that isn't needed. You will also need to have the m$dash 5960 (most current m$dash) to install the softmod. I highly recommend that you use the formatting options in CASH to put your HDD in a clean state before installing the softmod so you have the cleanest install possible. *Note* CASH v1.1 will not wipe F or G automatically they have their own section to wipe them and it's not needed to wipe F or G before installing the softmod. Only C and E will be be wiped in the format so if you wish to save anything then backup your C and E, really the only important thing you may lose would be your gamesaves (stored in E:\UDATA and E:\TDATA).

Recommended steps for using CASH v1.1 to softmod a chipped XBOX
  1. Boot the XBOX with the chip ENABLED and CASH v1.1 already in the drive
  2. From the main menu select the section "I'm softmodded w/some other Softmod"
  3. Select option B or C "Stock+Ndure v1.1.1 NTSC or PAL gamesaves"
  4. Then select option D "Run Ndure v.1.1.1 Installer Now"
  5. This will bring you to a menu where you select 1 of the 3 gamesaves you would like to install. If you don't have any of the 3 games I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GET 1 OF THE 3 FOR FALLBACK REASONS!!! You don't have to have any of the 3 games but pick one of the 3 gamesaves to install and it will then boot into Krayzies Ndure Softmod installation menu.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions in Krayzies Menu to install the softmod. Personally I recommend that you use option "Basic Install" and "UnleashX" as a dashboard. It will check for the presence of your eeprom backup and the presence of a M$dash 5960. If you get an error then you don't have one of the 2 done correctly, most likely the eeprom cause CASH puts the 5960 dash on during the format.
  7. At the point that Krayzies installer tells you to take the disc out and reboot, TAKE THE DISC OUT AND REBOOT WITHOUT THE MODCHIP ON/ENABLED
  8. Upon reboot (with chip disabled and CASH removed) Krayzies installer will finish setting up your Shadow C drive. When it's complete it will reboot again to UnleashX or EvoX (whichever you choose during installation).
  9. Your done and can remove the modchip when your booting to UnleashX or EvoX.
  10. IF you have any problems with your F and/or G drive showing your games, movies, videos, etc after doing this: You need to use the section from the main menu "I'm softmodded w/Ndure v1.1.1", then use "Install Krayzies Extras", then use the options to change your NKPatcher to .06. This is only needed if you used a .67 bios with your modchip and stored things on F and/or G. If you still have problems with F and/or G showing correctly after doing that: In your dashboard there should be a setting to Enable F and/or G drives, enable the drive(s) you want and then reboot, F and/or G should show correctly afterwards.
  11. OPTIONAL You can then put CASH v1.1 back in the drive and run it to use the options to change your dash and add programs and also use the options to format F and/or G now.

NON-Recommended steps for using CASH v1.1 to softmod a chipped XBOX

The only reason I'll even put this section in is because there will always be those that don't want to format their drive. But like I said, formatting is the best option and insures you have all the correct files on the drive when installing the softmod. With the above (Recommended) method there is 0 chance of something going wrong (as long as you follow those directions exactly) but with this method there is no way for me to predict what you may have on the drive and/or how it could affect the install of the softmod, so with this method (NON-Recommended) there is obviously alot more chance of something going wrong. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
  1. Be sure you have a m$dash 5960 on the box before starting
  2. Boot the XBOX with the Modchip ENABLED and CASH v1.1 in the drive
  3. From the main menu use the option "I'm softmodded w/Krayzies Ndure v1.0"
  4. Then use option C or D "This will copy the NTSC or PAL gamesaves to your HD"
  5. Then run the option E "Run Krayzies Installer to Upgrade from to v1.1.1"
  7. **NOTE** Since you didn't use the format options on CASH you may not have the 5960 dash on your box. Optionally you can use the "Minimum Install" and it will install without having a 5960 dash.
  8. At the point that Krayzies installer tells you to take the disc out and reboot, TAKE THE DISC OUT AND REBOOT WITHOUT THE MODCHIP ON/ENABLED
  9. Upon reboot (with chip disabled and CASH removed) Krayzies installer will finish setting up your Shadow C drive. When it's complete it will reboot again to UnleashX or EvoX (whichever you choose during installation).

Sorry if I have missed anything or didn't explain something enough. I've been at work the past 6 hours trying to get this written out in my free time. My video on my mobo is going out and whenever it dies I get no video till I reboot the PC, so I've typed this whole thing out about 5x already and lost all or most of it that I didn't backup to a .txt file every 5 minutes and can't remember what I typed earlier and what I lost, so sorry.  cool.gif

Again, in the next release of CASH I'll make a special section for softmodding a chipped box, until then this will have to do.  wink.gif

I have Shademand's Ready Made softmod, would this allow me to format and start with a fresh softmod?  Would there be any way to do it without 007, MA, or SC?  Thanks

Hmm, I know the softmod you speak of but have never used it. I'll take a look at it tonight and make sure it works fine with CASH. But most likely you will be able to wipe it all off and start fresh with Krayzies Ndure v1.1.1 and all without any 007, MA, or SC, but again not positive, I'll test it out tonight.
