yea it does that just do what i do

either put in a disk the xbox will not read E.g a ps2 game (thats what i put in) and the new dash will load

or a dvd without your playback kit in

i thorght it didnt work at first try that and see if it works

i tried booting with a dvd in with out the play back kit...and it asks to remove disk then the normal ms dash just boots up...? i tried loading the ms dash and then puttin the dvd in and still ...the other dash will not boot!?

i copied slayers c folder to the c folder in ndure...was i supossed to do this...one tutorial said i should!

am i suposed to activate the alt dash first somehow?

thanks for you posts PLEASE keep um comming!

it sounds like there are still the orignal ms files still in C:\ xboxdash.xbe (check the size it should be 1,884 KB)
try the DDAE if you installed that

ok your having all the troubles i had the first time round where the clock come up then u press (A) and it resets ... this is what to do

1. make sure u have the right dashboard number....e.g. have u updated ur xbox with live?

if u have make sure when ur setting up ndure u pick the right one

ok after all that or if its done

check u have the right up 2 date ndure file http://mysite.verizo...mn/mn/ndxdm.zip well the script
cause the one on textbooks post is old now

after checking all that make a new iso with the updated script file and burn and try reinstalling again thats what i had to do then i can do the ps2 game trick to make it boot into the other dash and not the M$ one

try let let us know what happens

i know uve probs already looked at this but make sure uve got everything rite i thorght i did the first time round

thank you for your help, how do i find out if they are there without having to hot swap again...because i hevent ftped to get my eeprom to use lock and unlock fetures...and about DDAE i do believe i installed it but how to i acsess it? i know it has something to do with a blank sound track in music?

heres what i did when i installed softmod...i backed up my c drive then used option 2 in the ndure menu to install ...should i of chose option 1? i was also told to download slayer's auto install and copy the files from slayers c...to the c folder in ndure then burn the iso...i did everything right correct?

stupid no edit button:

ok i duno what uve been doing lol but i did non of this and mine works fine witht he ps2 disk trick

i picked option 1...it backed up my hd and got my eeprom so dont worry about that but dont use slayer c:\ theres no need to maby thats ur problem uve just added the c: drive again to ur hd so its just going to that but cause u have ndure on to its messing up

follow the post above but

choose option 1 and dont mess with the files (no adding slayers c:)

let me know how it goes
i only learnthow to mod mine yesterday and i learnt by mistake and broke one xbox messing about so things mess up and take time dont worry it will work in the end lol

files needed for NDURE to boot

C:\xboxdash.xbe (size 1,929,216 bytes or 1,884KB this is the special xbe)
C:\xodash\xbox.xtf (72 bytes)
C:\xodash\ernie.xtf (435 bytes)
C:\bios\bios.xbe (if using Kingroach's pkg)

check the folder you made the .iso from

make a new setup with the installer and replace it in xboxhdm folder. The correct location for bios folder is "xboxhdm\linux\ndure\C\bios\bios.xbe".

you can treat it like a har  modded xbox .. just dont use slayers or any other disk to replace dashboard ( they will probably screw the dashboard).. good luck with the xbox. smile.gif .
