Safe To Use Ms Dash
« Reply #15 on: June 07, 2006, 08:48:00 PM »

hrm, ok, so why do you need to disable ndure via UDDAE to use the retail dash to change live settings? Is it safe even with ndure enabled to use the default dash?

Or are you meaning use the xboxonline dash.

Grentz; to install or reinstall it, use the Ndure Toolset's 'Install Menu -> 'Install UDDAE' (via /E/ndts/default.xbe).

The following sequence triggers it (and can be practiced via the Eject boot):

[Music] [blank soundtrack] [Copy] [Select] [Copy] [New Soundtrack]

<<Eggsßox>> (that's two '<' Symbols, Shift E, g, g, s, beta Accent 'ß', o, x and two '>' Symbols)

[Done] (uberdash menu loads) [Music] [blank soundtrack] [Copy] [Copy] [New Soundtrack] [Done]

Did exactly as you said, but when I try to make the new soundtrack, it always says "Maximum Number of SoundTracks Reached 100" (or something close to that).
...
And also, can i just use that other dash (the Xboxonline one) to edit my live settings/accounts without having to do the whole UDDAE thing?
{: That error message actually confirms you didn't do exactly what I posted (which no doubt means I wasn't clear enough about part/s of it). ;}

If the first two lines of the sequence are done correctly, something else would happen ... as it's actually an easter-egg in the MS dash itself (that works with any sound track).

Maybe where I wasn't clear enough was "[blank soundtrack]"?  By that I mean the empty/no name sound track menu entry that's there after successfully installing UDDAE.

Re. the xonlinedash console, that has the Xbox Live setup and maintenance options ... it's NOT the real MS dash executable in kingroach's 3.0 (NOR krayzie's 1.1[...]) whereas the normal Eject boot MS dash IS the real MS dash executable in kingroach's 3.0 (but NOT krayzie's 1.1[...]) and real MS dash executables are the safest to use on XBL.

ok....I did use the blank soundtrack (the one with no name). It still says that the 100 soundtrack limit has been reached. I have triple checked to make sure I am doing it right and I have been doing it exactly as to what you say.

Anyhow, I guess its ok as I used that xonlinedash to update my live settings and all is still working good 1 day later.

I think it is interesting that you say the real ms dash is the safest to use as I have heard people on both sides of the fence with this. I will repeat my earlier question, if the Real MS dash is safe to use, why do I need to use UDDAE to disable Ndure? Is the MS Dash not safe to use with Ndure enabled? OR am I fine to use the MS Dash to look at my friends list/update XBL info even with Ndure enabled?

From what has been said in this topic it seems like the Retail MS dash is just as safe to use as coldbooting, except even safer if you disable with UDDAE? If you could just explain what is safe and what is not with XBL and the dashboards that would be awesome!

Thanks,
Grentz

Grentz, something's not right for you ... at what point is that message occurring?

I expect that's not a potential risk (as it isn't account maintenance on XBL).

Usage of real MS dash XBE's is what's significant ... as per my previous post re. "executables".

you dont need to disable Ndure to use real MS dash.. The ms dash you boot with eject is th eREAL ms dash.. ONly you cannt go to XBL menu.. for that you can switch default eject boot to xonlinedash..  Xbox dash has two parts ( xbox dash and xonlinedash) and both cant be used simultaniously with any exploit thats why you need to switch between two..

ok, i guess that is what was confusing me since i can still go to the xboxlive menu in the REAL MS Dash, but I was curious if it is safe to do so (i have only done it when i have the ethernet disconnected so that i do not get banned and just to check if i can even get to it).

So it is safe to go to the Xbox Live menu in the Real MS Dash, or is it not and I should use the xboxonlinedash?

and

Can I go to the Real MS Dash, put in a Genuine Game, have it start up, and play it on live? or is that risky compared to cold booting?

Yes you can boot to xboxdash.. place a retail disk and go to xbox live.. and when you  go to xbox live menu from retail dash.. it should reload the dash..

Hrm, odd, it does not reload the dash when I click on it without the ethernet plugged in (it takes me to the select gamertag or add a new one, and then once I select my gamertag it loads the xbl screen in the background, but says connection error (since i do not have the ethernet plugged in))

Anyhow, sorry about all the questions  sad.gif , I just am trying to get it right so i do not get banned.
