Firstly if this is the worng plave I apologise.

Softmodded the box worked fine. Kids played some games turned off. Now when turned on the xbox just says "Xbox live needs to update blah blah" "Xbox live is not responding please try again later"

This box doenst have net access, and the only game that seems to load is the original Burnout Revenge.

Is there anyway to get it to at least play other original games?

Please help, I have had a look and couoldnt see the answer, but then again I may have been looking for the wrong thing

do you have a eeprom backup? or gamesave access.

ill tell ya what though. there is a way to fix
I did this on my first XBOX (version 1.5 and i know it)
I had tried to use a french UXE installer and i couldnt read it so i clicked a whole bunch of stuff and well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif)

go here http://llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/Reading_Xbox_Hdd_key.htm and read the story

it will tell you how to fix

xbox is ok.. you need to hotswap with xboxhdm and repair the C partition and then install whatever mod you installed in the first place.. how did you modified your xbox first?.. with game and loading a gamesave or hotswapping?..

Then just put the splinter cell disk and boot it like you boot burnout revenge.. load linux profile and installer menu should pop up..

ah but thats the problem it wont boot, as son as you power on it shows the xbox logo and as soon as it says MS at the bottom it goes to the "xbox live is updating blah blah blah" screen (burnout revenge no longer loads either)

thats all you can do now...(other then a chip)
if you have the eeprom.bin then no need to hotswapp just use xboxhdm
