Wont Boot Into Unleash X Anymore Goes To Msdash Instead
« on: May 03, 2006, 04:52:00 AM »

I have 1.6 xbox that i softmodded with the ndure/hdm tutorial.

Yesterday i ftp'd ninja gaiden onto my xbox and accidently run gamerstag or something and then it started updating something. i played ninja gaiden for a while and then went to sleep. But now when i turn on my box it will boot msdash with either button (had the dual boot thing)
so now i cant ftp and play games anymore, how can i fix this??

boembats; when you softmodded with the ndure/hdm tutorial, did it display any disk space error messages?

well not an error but i recently fixed another error i had by ftping and replacing te c partition. I used the latest ndure 3.0 + c from slayers disk, but i had to delete shadow c for it to fit on my c partition.

Deleting that meant your setup wasn't then Ndure'd correctly and was vulnerable to dashupdate.xbe attacks ... which is what has now occurred.

You will need to re-softmod it, such as per the ndure/hdm tutorial again (but won't have to hotswap this time, if you've got the eeprom.bin available)...

a} Do what the tut says ... it uses Option 1 (not Option 2) and doesn't touch games and saves;

b} use the tut's linked `ndure` script (not the one Ndure 3.0 creates on the PC);

c} don't change the real C's contents manually, unless you don't mind the risk of this happening again!

okay everything is back to normal now.
i did what you said and almost everything went smooth.
i couldn't get the hd unlocked with hdm so i hotswapped it again.
dont know what exactly what the problem was.
had eeprom on the cd and the drive hooked up correctly.
but that doesnt matter it works now, so thanx again!
