Hello. Last night i re-installed NDure with Unleashx. It work fine and i could get FTP access to my xbox. Now, this morning i unplugged my xbox from the power cable and i opened the case so i can clean my jewel. This took from 9:00 am till 2:00 pm.

After i added the case back to my xbox and mounted everything to its place, i plugged my power cable, the T.V. cords and ethernet cable. I turned on my xbox by the power button and the xbox logo came on as usual. Normaly after the xbox logo, Unleashx would come up with the skin i was using. But this didnt happend. All i got after the xbox logo was a black screen. Nuthing was on it. My LED lights were orange but nuthing was happening.

While i was trying to fix it, i thought maybe it was the hardrive. So i took it out again and hotswaped. I reformated my harddrive and installed my back-up files with Ndure. I connect the harddrive back to my xbox and turned it on. I still got the black screen.

Is there somethring wrong with my harddrive?
Did i install Ndure wrong or what? (it was working perfectly the day before, and i could even play agmes)

What could be done to solve this problem?

You mention that you had it un-plugged for a long time, so the clock would probably unset. With the latest nkpatcher in ndure there is an automatic clock setting screen activated when it isn't set. I'm guessing there is something wrong with the files making it hang or sit waiting, the orange light would suggest that nkpatcher is running ok, but is getting stuck.

I can't think of a quick fix. It would seem that you will have to re-do the ndure setup and create another xboxhdm disc as you're backup files you are using must have the same file errors.

I used the exact same cd yesterday when i reformated my harddrive and installing NDure and my back up files. It worked last night after i did this but now it wont work because i kept it unplugged all morning today.

I also have a backed up C drive of a friends xbox. His xbox is modded wth unleasz too so maybe i could make a cd again and install thos files?

You could do that, but it might fail if you're friends setup used kernel specific fonts and you have differing kernels.

You could just put a standard 5960 MS dash on c: (make sure it is complete) and running it to set the clock, then put you're old files back on the HDD in under 3-4 hours so the clock doesn't unset again.

But you would be best off just re-doing the ndure-setup from scratch.

The thing is, i dont have original xbox files. I only have my C and E drives backed up (i backed them up after i installed NDure). So should i just make another cd with only Ndure folder in it and just install it like the fist time i did to softmod my xbox?

Yes, i have a burned game cd from my friend. I inserted that cd into the drive then i closed it. I got a black screen and then i re-opened the tray and the screen went to original xbox dash. I took the game out and turned xbox off. I turned it bakc on and after the xbox logo, i still had a black screen.

Now when i put a game in, i dont get the black screen anymore, so the game loads up. Why doesnt Unleashx load up? Its sooo WIERD!!

Darn... why the hell didn't I think of that...doh , yes start the xbox with the eject button and set the clock. lol

Anyway I may know why you're backup files have this problem, check the e: folder on you're xboxhdm cd and see if you have left the "shadowC_off.bin" file on there. This would cause the clock check to fire up the wrong xboxdash.xbe which "is" (should be "was" now) giving you the hang. If that file is indeed there, next time you use the cd to alter you're HDD, fire up "xbrowser" and delete that file on you're xbxox e: drive.

edit.. just read the you're last post.... set the clock in the original m$ dash

Umm i shouldve really payed attention to wut u sayed long time ago "delet the shadowC_off file after you are done with it*. Couple of minutes ago, i went into my original xbox dash and chnanged my clock lol. But i still have shadowC_off.bin in my E drive. I will create another cd and go into xplorer and delet that file.

**SORRY IT WOULDNT LET ME EDIT MY PREVIOUS POST**

Will my problem be fixed if i get rid of that shadowC_off.bin from my E drive? Im not really sure if it would work but i will try it. I just want to make sure it works.

sorry to say, but that is what happened
when nkpatcher is set to use a shadowC and it's not there
or some of the needed files are not in the shadowC

that eject trick will work as long as all the needed files are in the real C

it's good to see NP don't miss a beat

there is a fix for it
but it require new set of source files to recompile
PM me if you want them
or you could use the external config file to turn off the clock check...

now that is real strange with that file on E:\ it would have looked for msxboxdash.xbe
or xb0xdash.xbe (depending on the installer used) and worked if you were able to set the clock using the eject trick

otherwise it would skip the clock check....

you can use unleashX to delete/rename

one way to test is
to set the clock back to last year and reboot

I will delet shadowC_off.bin using xboxhdm and go into xplorer and delet the file. If this doesnt work then i will get the needed files and add them too.

I have tried the eject trick but i still get a black screen.

***XBOX HAS BEEN FIXED!!!!! Thankz to all that helped me!!***

All i had to do was go into original xbox dash, go to settings, and change the date and time. Then i reboot xbox and Unleashx poped up!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
