i have some troubles with modding

I am now at the screen where we need to typ 'xbrowser'
But if i do that there comes something strange.

looking for cd-rom in dev/hda /hdb/hdc/hdd

No diskdrive found on /dev/hda
Please connect a drive and try again

How can that ?

How many IDE ports does your motherboard have? If it only has one then you have to use xboxhdm 2.2.

I have the screen from xbrowser on my screen.

But if i load the ndure file it says

./ndure
./ndure : no such file or directory
press any key to continue...

What can i do with this problem

I am having an issue installing the mod on my xbox.
I am using xboxhdm 2.2 with ndure 3.1.
I was able to do it at first because I didn't copy the new ndure script.
After rebooting it loaded to the point where it says microsoft under the xbox logo.
Froze there. stayed there even if I left it on for an hour.
rebooted with game in hd and hotswapped again.
Restored my original files.
Rebooted and saw it worked.
copied the new ndure script.
I can get everything to go up to the point where I click on the ndure script.
When I click it I get searching for cd-rom on hda... and it keeps going to t.
Then it says it couldn't find it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Make sure you xbox hd is unlocked and have the xbox hd plugged in to the ATA Master slot. The cd/dvd drive can be anywhere else.

as for xbox hanging, you are probably selecting wrong kernel while building the files, choose the proper kernel or choosing generic kernel under fonts menu.

NEW ISSUE.
I figured out that the reason my ndure script wasn't working was because when using xboxhdm 2.2 you have to change directories from /cd/ to /xboxhdm/. Now I have a new and even worse issue. I deleted the xodash folder using xbrowser, but it still says it's there. when I click to enter it, it says I entered it, but all the files from the root of my C: drive are still there. I can't copy the files back into it, and I can't delete it. if I keep clicking xodash it keeps adding /xodash to the end of the directory I am in, but it's not showing me it in the browser. I tried rebooting, and problem remained. HELP!

Alright, I followed all of the steps accurately as far as I can tell, but when I reboot the xbox, I just get an Xbox live setup screen, and I can't access any other part of the dash, nor can I access the alternate loader. So what in the world happened? Please help!

You didn't follow all of the steps accurately. Read the link in my signature - "Softmod With Hotswap" - and do exactly what it says.

Perfectly normal.

It's how you can tell that the softmod is working, and it's invaluable in troubleshooting if something happens to your primary dash.

Make sure you take a backup of your eeprom ASAP, and copy it to your PC.

This cannot be stressed enough!!!! This should be one of the first steps after modding a system.

Question about IDE? I have 2 IDE ports on my computer. Right now the configuration is on the main port (I guess they call it Primary) I have my PC HDD as Master and the DVD drive as slave. The second port is basically not being used.

Question is can I use the second port with no problems for the Xbox hot swap? I will just connect the cable to my Xbox? I have enough length I can also power the Xbox HDD from my PC? Is that okay? From what I read it is confusing.

Help if you can and sorry if it is a dumb question but I am still new to all this. I think I got my Xboxhdm disk all ready to go. It appears to have all I need on it. I did a test boot with the DVD and it boots to the Xbox HD Maker black and white screen.

No you cannot power the xbox hard drive with your PC, that is why you hotswap, to get the hdd unlocked by the xbox and then plug the IDE from your PC into it. Just do exactly as the guide says and you'll be fine, all of this is covered.
