Can A 49lf020 Be Hotswapped/flashed

These chips are both in the same package and would fit nicely. I tried looking at the info on SST's web site and there seemed to be some differences.

If they are close enough for it to work, what flash software would be best to use?

49LF020 mod into a pc with a 39SF020 (in case it got cut off in the topic)
