also, in my settings my bios says "unknown"

so that seems to be an issue right?

well your giving us very little info on what you used and did exactly to mod it. you expect us to just guess wht's wrong with it when you just say I did the tutorial and now nothing is working? and it's normal that the bios says unkwon. it's just not specified in the ini.
you tried deleteing e:\cache allready?

delete your E:\cache folder do it via ftp or a file browser

deleted it... rebooted with a disk inside.. nothing still.. same menu as before.

your dvd drive is prolly junk, transdfer the apps & things via ftp, and be done with it...

shit. I just bought this too from EB games and I'm sure now that it has screw holes on the bottom I can't return it.

Hi, try puttting dvdx 2 on via ftp and then try a dvd film. Should tell you if the drive is working.

It could be that you are using dvd+R on a samsung drive and your burner isn't doing the bitsetting, as samsung won't read dvd+r apparently unless your burner does something to the bitsetting. If you think this might be the case try a dvd-r. (At least this is what i read elsewhere on these forums)

I guess you already know you can't use cd-r, but you can use most cd-rw disc.

Just because your Evox is claiming the media in your drive is "Unknown" doesn't mean its not reading whats on the CD/DVD. "Unknown" just means your Evox cant determin what type of program is on the CD. (Weather its an Xbox game or application)

For example. If you burn a bunch of movies to a data disc, then Evox will tell you its unknown. It doesnt mean its not reading it, it just doesnt know whats on there.

Put your Xbox app in a folder of its own, Xiso it and then burn it as an Image.

yeah, I used dvd decrypter to burn the first 3 disks and those didn't work.

I just tried a new one using nero... after I ran it through xiso.. hoping this one works.

still not working... I guess I can't play any backup games, or anything else burned to dvd... maybe its my dvd-r's which are "imataion"

I put in a cd-r with a divx movie on it and it played fine through xbmc.

Now I'm wondering if I can some how just keep games on my pc and play them over the network.

nope, but you can ftp the games to the hd.
